DBT Skills Training for Older Teens and College-Aged Persons
Learn SKILLS that will transform your LIFE!
Have you heard about Dialectical Behavioral Therapy?
DBT, which stands for Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is a broad-based cognitive-behavioral treatment known for its effectiveness in helping individuals who experience chronic emotional dysregulation and/or a pattern of self-destructive behaviors. DBT skills training can be especially helpful for young adults and college-aged persons due to the unique challenges and transitions they face during this phase of life.
Is Dialectical Behavioral therapy effective?
The early years of adulthood can be particularly challenging filled with academic stress and career challenges, relational issues, financial worries, as well as issues related to one’s ability to adapt to a new environment away from home and with unfamiliar people. DBT teaches the skills necessary to help you stay wise and grounded as you tolerate difficult circumstances and navigate challenges effectively.
DBT has been found to be an effective treatment for a variety of mental health conditions including depression and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, substance issues, eating disorders, self-harm and suicidal ideation, PTSD, as well as ADHD and executive functioning issues. DBT can include individual therapy and group skills training. It requires a commitment of time, money, and prioritization, AND the therapeutic benefits can be LIFELONG!
DBT skills training for older teens and college-aged persons
DBT recognizes that patient problems are often the result of skill deficits and so increasing individual capabilities through skills training is a major focus of DBT. Lotus Psychotherapy is pleased to offer DBT skills training as part of its group offerings. DBT skills are aimed directly at reducing problems that stem from patterns of instability in emotional regulation, as well as difficulties in impulse control, interpersonal relationships, and self-esteem.
Next group starting Tuesday, November 5th!
